Rock Hill – Mrs. Annie McLeod Windell, 99, passed away, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 830 N. Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Reggie Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until time of service Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Windell was born in Southern Pines, NC on October 31, 1918 to the late Theophilus McLeod, Jr. and Annie Crawford Holland McLeod. She was the widow of Earl Vincent Windell, Sr. Mrs. Windell was the first secretary at Oakland Baptist Church for Dr. William Ball. She kept the books for Maxwell Brothers Furniture, Al Burgess Accounting and worked for Belk Department Store in the office. She was a long-time member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Fort Mill where she taught Junior Sunday School, was the Librarian for 16 years, a GA Leader, and sang in the choir for 50 plus years. She was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Windell loved to quilt and crochet for her family and friends.
Mrs. Windell is survived by her loving children, Earl Vincent Windell, Jr. and wife Candace of Fort Mill, and Marie Annette Windell Craig and her husband Eddie of Rock Hill; her four grandchildren, whom she was very proud of, Crystal Anne Craig Beck (Stephan), Earl Vincent Windell, III (Hannah), Lindsay Carter Windell Bombardier (Chad), and Elijah Robert Windell (Jordan Bowers); her sister, Hester Smith of Panama City, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother TH McLeod, two sisters, Lucille Dean and Ruby Biggs.
