ROCK HILL – Mrs. Bernice Lee Brandon, 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her home.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Deese officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11-11:45am at the church.
Born in Union, SC, Mrs. Brandon was a daughter of the late Herbert Lipsey and the late Lessie Jane Crawford Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Brandon; her daughter, Cathy Bagwell; her brothers-in-law, James Brandon, Marvin Thomas and Thurman Passmore; and her sisters, Nancy Thomas and Rosa Lee Short. She was retired from Smith Enterprises after 35 years of service and then went to work with her family at Double B Graphix. She was an avid softball player, jersey #45, and was affectionately known as “Mama B”. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church; she loved people and had a contagious smile. She supported St. Jude Hospital and Shriner’s Hospitals for Children because these organizations were close to her heart.
Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Brandon of Rock Hill and Phyllis Brandon Gaston (Pat) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Linda Campbell (Johnny), Lois Passmore and Geraldine Brandon, all of Rock Hill; and her brother-in-law, Walter Short of Lake Wylie.
