Catawba – John “Johnny” Lorenzen Hyatt, 53, passed peacefully away Monday, September 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family along with Pastor Jerry Devinney. During Pastor Jerry’s prayer, he asked for God to reach down and take Johnny home; “Amazing Grace” was sung by Pastor Jerry as the family joined in as he drew his final breath.
Johnny’s funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, with Rev’s. Jerry Devinney, Mike Wooten and Patrick Connelly officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.
Johnny was born in Rock Hill to the late John Charles Hyatt and Alma Lewis Hyatt of Catawba. He was retired from General Tire, was the owner and operator of Hyatt Insulating Incorporated. A longtime member of Garden Sanctuary Church of God.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Bonnie “Bunny” Hyatt of the home; his mother Alma Lewis Hyatt of Catawba; his three children, John Curtis Hyatt (Amanda) of Catawba, Tiffany Hyatt Moore (Daymon) of Catawba, and Justin Daniel Moore of Catawba; two granddaughters, Mary-Lee Elizabeth Hyatt and Raelyn Brynn Moore; three sisters, Fonda Hyatt, Kelly Hyatt, and Michelle Hyatt; two foster brothers, Euris Hyatt (Mary) and Roger Hyatt (Sherrie).
