RICHBURG – Mr. Kenneth Julian Shytle, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 4pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church in McConnells with Rev. Dr. David Shytle officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Baptist Church cemetery.
Born in York, SC, Mr. Shytle was a son of the late James E. Shytle and the late Helen T. Shytle. He is also preceded in death by his grandfathers, James B. “Shorty” Taylor and Frank Carl Shytle; his grandmothers, Verdia Taylor Rodgers and Clevie Anthony Shytle; his brothers, James Franklin Shytle and John Paul Shytle; and his sister, Paula Janette Shytle.
He was a US Marine veteran serving during Vietnam and he also served in the Army National Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, building things and woodworking. His most enjoyable times were spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of Seekers and Believers Church in Blacksburg where he served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Jean Connolly Shytle; his children, Angie Maloy (Jim) of St. James. MO, Randy Lance (Windy) of Chester and Carla Darby (Wallace) of Richburg; his grandchildren, Mack, Randy and Kattie Maloy, Randall and Conor Lance, Amber, Ashlyn and Breanna Darby; his great-grandchildren, Danny Ray, Peyton Lynn and Chandler Julian; his brothers, Rev. Dr. David Shytle (Beverly) of McConnells and James E. Shytle, Jr. (Kim) of Columbia; his sister, Karen S. Berry of McConnells; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill.
