Rock Hill – Mr. Robert Quinton Rodgers, Sr., 94, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Holly United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30 pm prior to the service in the sanctuary.
Mr. Rodgers was a native of Lancaster, SC and the son of the late Jesse Carl Rodgers and Ida Bell Steel Rodgers. He was a United States Marine veteran and served in World War II. He retired from Hochst-Celanese after 26 years of service and formerly worked for Rock Hill Body Company for 15 years. Mr. Rodgers was a member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church where he led the Marietta Lever Sunday School Class, served as Youth Director and was involved in the Men’s Club. He also worked in the Scouting program for 50 years. He was the widower of Alice Shillinglaw Rodgers.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his son, Robert “Rog” Rodgers, Jr. (Diane) of Richburg, SC; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
