Rock Hill – Ray Edward Marshall a 28 year resident of Rock Hill, SC died March 8th 2018.  Ray was born in Henderson, KY April 26, 1944 and was predeceased in death by his parents Ashford B. & Elizabeth Berry Marshall.  He attended public schools in Henderson and was honored to be a lifelong Kentucky Colonel.

Stationed in Germany, Ray served in the US Military from 1962 – 1965.  He spent his career in computer sales, working primarily in the states of NC, VA, PA, MN and SC.  Ray served as a member and director of several business related organizations and associations.

Ray attended University of North Carolina where he found his enduring love for the Tar Heels.  He received a BA in History and MBA from Winthrop University.  Ray was pursuing a Masters in History to further his passion for learning.

Ray joined Rotary International in 1980 in York, PA.  He served as Assistant District Governor, and president of the Breakfast Club of Rock Hill and Rock Hill Rotary clubs and received multiple Paul Harris Fellows awards.  He had a particular fondness for the Rotary Foundation.

He was a 32nd Degree Member of the York Masonic Lodge #385.  He currently served as Chaplin and was acting secretary of the Scottish Rite organization.

A member of Episcopal Church of Our Saviour since 1993, Ray was a founding member and first president of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour Foundation.  He also served as Lector, Eucharistic Minister, a recent Sunday School Teacher and various other positions within the church.

Ray is survived by his wife of 46 years Sherron Hooper Marshall, daughter Kathleen Marshall Hough, Son-In-Law John Hough of Rock Hill, Granddaughter Samantha Hough of USC in Columbia, SC and special friend Johnnie Bradley of Raleigh, NC.

Funeral will be held at Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 144 Caldwell Street, Rock Hill, SC at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 13th.  Ray will be interred in Smythe Memorial Garden following the service.  A reception will follow in the parish hall.  The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to Episcopal Church of Our Saviour Foundation, 144 Caldwell Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
