Daryl Lee Herbert, age 62. Born in Canton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2025 after a hard-fought illness surrounded by close friends and family.
He was survived by his wife, Ann Herbert; children, Michael Herbert of Chester, SC, Scott Herbert (Rachel) of Clover, SC, Amy Small (Kurt) of York, SC; five grandchildren, Keven, Case, Kenleigh, Riley, and Baby Boy Small; his parents, Kenneth and Sally Herbert; brother, Troy Herbert (Trina); sister, Cheryl Perkins (Rick), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.
Daryl grew up in Canton, Ohio and graduated from Canton South High School. He owned and operated D&H Excavating for many years. To some, he was a big teddy bear. By others, Leonardo, an artist in his work, or Big D. But mostly, he was Daryl, dad, grandpa and uncle Daryl.
He loved to eat. Food was his passion. He loved to draw, and take vacations with family. He loved his friends and they loved him. He will be dearly missed.
There will be a private memorial planned for his friends and family.
