Mrs. Ila (Genie) Snyder , 74 years old of York, SC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2025. She was born to the late Harvey and C. C. Moore, and she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Dean Snyder and her brother Harvey Moore II.
Originally from Maryland, Ila fell in love with a southern boy. They moved to North Carolina after they married, where she utilized her artistic ability for several years as a Draftsman for Cone Mills. She later left Cone to raise their children.
Ila is survived by her children, William Snyder, Deana Lee and her husband, Michael, and grandchildren, James and Thomas Lee. She is also survived by her brothers, Raymond and his wife Carolyn Moore, and William (Bill) and his wife Bonnie Moore.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:30am at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive visitors prior from 10:00am – 11:15am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 3:30pm at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery, 109 Charles St, Spencer, NC 28159.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Chandler Place for their loving care and assistance while our mom was struggling with cancer for the past few years, and to Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she became a member after moving to York.
