James Eugene Kennedy, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Park Pointe Village in Rock Hill, SC.

Mr. Kennedy was born on October 22, 1931, to the late Thomas Charles Kennedy and Mary A. Farrell Kennedy in Lafayette, Indiana.  After graduating from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Kennedy joined the United States Army.  During his time in the military, he earned the rank of sergeant as a tank commander.  After his time in the service, he dedicated much of his time to his career.  He became a manufacturing plant manager in both Franklin, NC and Brenham, TX.  In his personal life, Mr. Kennedy was always involved in volunteer work and helping others.  He especially focused on helping in his continued work with Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.  However, above all, he was dedicated and devoted to his family.  He thoroughly enjoyed socializing, wood working, and golfing as his favorite hobbies.  His loved ones will affectionately remember him as having “a heart of gold.”

Mr. Kennedy is preceded in death by his late parents; his wife of about 30 years, Annette Marie Stump Kennedy; and his siblings, Thomas Kennedy, Joan Bates, Father Edward Kennedy, and Michael Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nell Ann Jaeckle Kennedy; his brother, Patrick Kennedy; his son, James Michael Kennedy (Cheryl); his step-son, Benny Steve Hoyle Jr. (Teresa); his step-daughters, Laurie Evans (Guy), Nancy Humphries (Burt), and Susie Dod (Andrew); his numerous nieces and nephews, his ten grandchildren, one of whom, T. Kent McDaniel preceded his death, and nine great-grandchildren.
