Rock Hill, SC – Carol Hewitt Ruh, 88, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at her home.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. A Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, 1694 Bird Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Father John Guiliani officiating.
Born in Rochester, NY, Carol was the daughter of the late George Raymond Hewitt and the late Mary Tack Hewitt. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Maxwell and her brother-in-law, Dan Maxwell.
Carol was married for 67 years to her high school sweetheart, Frank N. Ruh, Jr. They would have celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary on February 15, 2026. She was a member of Newcomers of York County, welcoming people who were new to the community. Through this organization, she met many lifelong friends. Carol was a dedicated member of Saint Anne Catholic Church for more than 48 years. Her top priority was spending time with her wonderful family.
Surviving are her spouse, Frank N. Ruh, Jr; her six children, Timothy Ruh (Jamie), Linda Eshelman (Chuck Austin), Karen Rutledge (Drew), Chris Ruh (Jennifer), Michelle Wilson (Mike), and Maureen Crisp (Craig); her 12 grandchildren, Michael Ruh (Dana), Melissa Ruh, Brian Eshelman, Steve Eshelman, Brent Hovis (Lynn), Kevin Hovis (Alyson), Jackson Ruh, Parker Ruh, Brad Wilson (Megan), Jake Wilson (Krysten Massey), Brittany Black (Will), and Taylor Crisp (Chandler); 11 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Bob Hewitt (Mary Anne) and Ray Hewitt (Jackie); her sister, Debbie Grice (Dan); and many, many nieces and nephews.
