Rock Hill, SC – Paul Leon Wagner, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 902 Crawford Road, Rock Hill, SC 20730. Burial will be in the church garden.
Born in Louisville, KY, Paul was the son of the late Arthur F. Wagner and the late Edith Henderson Wagner. He was retired from the United States Navy with 20 years of service as an Electronics Engineer. This work experience served him well as he found joy in building, both in structural renovations and smaller projects, such as furniture. You could often find him in his workshop working on various tasks. During his time in the Navy, Paul and his wife traveled all over the world. He also worked as an instructor in the Navy.
Paul was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Rock Hill. He was part of the Knights of Columbus at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Saint Anne Catholic Church and at his church in Texas. During his time in Texas, he volunteered as a paramedic (EMS) and as a fireman. Paul was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary O’Connell Wagner; two daughters, Michelle Ann Pautzke of Elko New Market, MN, Teresa Lynn Wagner Smith (Paul) of Mt. Holly, NC; four grandchildren, Darla, Daniel, Carver, and Gwen; four great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Liam, Quinn, and Devon; and two cousins, John Paul Douglas and Alice Brew.
