Fort Mill – John “Eddie” Woods, 69, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2026.
John was born September 25, 1956. He was born and raised in Fort Mill. After graduating from Fort Mill High School in 1974, Eddie’s career included long stints at Northrop Grumman and Sid Roth Ministries.
John was a man of the lord and attended Church of God in Fort Mill for many years. He was a big man with a bigger heart. He was a loving father and even more loving grandfather. He always knew how to make you smile and laugh.
He is survived by daughters, Tammy W Steele and Melissa James; and his grandchildren, Richard James and Hannah James.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Wood; and his mother, Betty Walker Wood.
There will be a wake for him from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel 2133 Ebenezer Road , Rock Hill, SC 29732. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
His funeral will be on at 2:30 PM, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the funeral home.
