Gabriel “Gabe” Logan Dunlap, 29, left this world and entered eternity on Friday, February 13, 2026, while he was surrounded by his family that loves him dearly. He was born on January 13, 1997, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to his parents, Dennis W. Dunlap and Misty N. Dunlap.
Left behind are his loving wife, Nikki Dunlap; his brother, Josh Dunlap; grandmother, Shirley Dunlap; grandfather, Robert Newsome; uncles Tim Dunlap and Geoff Newsome; aunt Kaye Newsome; mother-in-law, Moniqua Neal (Raymond); sister-in-law, Katie Gamble; close family member, James Harbert; and many close cousins and dear friends.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his paternal grandfather, Jack Dunlap; maternal grandmother, Barbara Newsome; and aunt, Debbie Newsome and aunt Beverly Dunlap.
Gabriel was extremely loyal to his family and friends and truly had the biggest heart of gold! He valued and loved his family deeply. He faithfully cared for his grandmother over many years. He was always available to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed. Gabriel never met a stranger. Even when he was in the emergency room the day of his accident and in severe pain, he was trying to comfort the patient next to him while talking to him through a curtain. Gabriel enjoyed life and was always ready for an adventure. He had the most beautiful and infectious smile. He was wise beyond his years. He was financially savvy and was always so careful with his finances and believed in living within his means even if that meant ordering water at restaurants when he would have loved to have a Mountain Dew. Gabriel loved animals and had dreams of one day opening an animal rescue. He genuinely loved his sweet lab puppy Belle, his buddy Diesel, his cats and his ducks.
Gabe was known for his many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors. He had a passion for automobiles and had a vast collection of model cars. He also enjoyed collecting all types of bottle caps since he was a young boy. Several years ago, he donated part of his collection for the construction of a park bench in Miracle Park. He loved traveling and had plans to travel to every state. He had a fondness for ball caps, shoes, and crazy socks. His truck that he was so proud of is covered in stickers that reflect his personality and places he has been. He enjoyed shooting sports and rarely missed ending his day with a bowl of ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and walnuts.
Gabe worked as a welder at CTR in Rock Hill. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in his work and enjoyed the people he worked alongside. He was enjoying the skills he was developing as a welder and was looking forward to growing in his field. Gabe loved welding projects as gifts for family and friends, whom now cherish even more the pieces he created over the years.
Gabe was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Harvest Ministries Church of God, 1211 S. Anderson Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29732, with Brother Kenneth Baker officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM, in the church auditorium.
