Rock Hill, SC – Mrs.  Jacqueline Humphries Allen, 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Spring Oak of York.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-12:50 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the funeral home with Reverend Ken Rabon officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC.

Born in Great Falls, SC, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Jessie James Humphries and the late Ruth Knight Humphries.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Curtis Allen, and her son, David Laverne Allen. She was retired from Celanese Fibers with 32 years of service.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when they were able to go on family cruises. Mrs. Allen loved baking cakes and was well known for her sour cream coconut cakes. She also enjoyed crocheting and if you knew her, you probably have one of her hand crocheted hats. Gospel music was a huge part of Mrs. Allen’s life. She enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music, often traveling with her husband as he performed with gospel groups. She was a member of the Church of God. Mrs. Allen also taught Sunday School in her earlier years and continued that passion for teaching as she led bible studies at the Assisted Living Homes.

Surviving are her two daughters, Doneese A. Owens of Clover, SC, and Andrea Ruth (Jimmy) Snipes of Spartanburg, SC; two sons, Jimmy Daniel (Cyndi) Allen of Lilburn, GA, and James Cornelius (Lisa) Allen of Rock Hill, SC; 7 grandchildren, Kristy Rostad (Brad), Liana Blackwell (Justen), Jeremy Owens (Catlin), James Snipes (Amanda), Kimberly Cooksey (Jamie), Brooke Totherow (Ryan), and Emily Thompson (Lamar); 11 great-grandchildren, Ella Rostad, Ethan Owens, Violet Owens, Landon Owens, Chaz Blackwell (Jessica), Alexis Blackwell, Kaiden Blackwell, Aubree Snipes, Colson Snipes, Becca Cooksey, Hannah Weathers (Tyler), Kess Totherow, and Culp Totherow; and 1 great-great grandchild, Lee Weathers.
