Dennis Edward Hamric, 84, was called Home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2026.

A devout Christian, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and servant of faith, Dennis lived a life of humility, prayer, and selfless love that continues to inspire all who knew him.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on May 16, 1941, Dennis was the son of the late Edgar James Hamric and the late Dorothy Hamric Wakefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ida Mae Smith and Dorothy Louise Tichon, as well as  brother, James Robert Hamric.

Dennis was retired as a chemical engineer from the Celanese Corporation in Rock Hill. He served as a Certified Financial Counselor and teacher through Financial Peace University, guiding hundreds of people through the wisdom of successful financial strategies.

As an avid runner, Dennis ran his first of five marathons at the age of 50, and could be seen running all around Rock Hill for the next 30 years! He also enjoyed golfing with friends and family, and after 40 years and thousands of rounds of golf, he hit his first hole-in-one, followed by a second hole-in-one two days later.

Dennis loved adventures, traveling around the world with Martha, the love of his life. He also loved taking his grandchildren and nieces and nephews on awesome ”adventures” that made lasting memories in each of their hearts!

Dennis was passionate about his faith, always eager to share his love for Jesus Christ. He intentionally lived out that love through his love for others.

Dennis is survived by his spouse of 25 years, Martha Williams Hamric. He is also survived by his sons, James Kennedy Hamric and David Hamric; his daughter, Tracey Hamric Haley (Mike); his sisters, Glenda Lee Flaker and Patricia Jo Iler; his brother, Richard Harry Wakefield (Nancy); grandchildren, Madeline (Maddie) Grace Parkman and Mitchell Thomas Parkman, and their father, Michael Parkman. Additional survivors include numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer ARP Church, with visitation immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made in Dennis’s name to Ebenezer ARP Church, VIA Hospice, The Gideons International, or a charity of your choice.
