Mr. Kenneth Eugene Shugart, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-11:45 am at the funeral home.
Born in York County, SC, Mr. Shugart was the son of the late David Russell Shugart and the late Ruby Lee Ledbetter Elkins. He attended Rock Hill High School and was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Shugart previously worked as Plant Supervisor for PBI. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and golfing. He enjoyed watching Westerns, the Carolina Gamecocks, reading and eating ice cream. Mr. Shugart loved his family dearly.
Mr. Shugart is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen B. Shugart; his son, Kenny Shugart (Elizabeth); his daughter, Jennifer Shugart; six grandchildren, Bethany Devinney (Josh); Tryston Shugart, Phoenix Shugart, Erin Millet, Grace Hill and Jay Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Charleigh Devinney. He is also survived by his special nephew, Jason and Samantha Brindle. He was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Daniel Shugart, sister, Betty Ruth Shugart Henderson and his beloved dog, Lu Lou.
