Mary Francis Boatwright, age 54, passed away on March 13, 2026.
Mary was born on December 7, 1971, in York County, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Wilson and Eva Maxine Brown, and her siblings, John Henry Wilson, Debbie Cook, and Scottie Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Boatwright (Nicole); her sisters, Minnie Cooke (Daniel), Glenda Lawson (Gary), Ruthie Brindle (Tommy), and Kay Trant (Bill); her brother, Alex Wilson (Jennifer); her sister-in-law, Tammy Wilson; her bonus mother, Alma Hurst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was such a loving and sweet free spirit with an unforgettable personality that could light up any space she was in. To know Mary was to love her, there was hardly a moment she wouldn’t have people laughing, smiling, and creating a presence that made you feel welcomed and wholesome.
If a karaoke mic was near, you’d know she was there shortly after because you would see her proudly ready to sing her favorite country music songs loudly for everyone. She loved going on walks, enjoying the sunlight, and anywhere there was positive energy. Mary had a gravity that seemed to pull people in. She was the life of the party wherever she was.
Nothing was more important to her than her family and friends. If she had a number one favorite thing to do it was spending time with her son Andrew who was her absolute world, and his late father Randy.
Mary’s love, memories, and presence will be remembered and carried on by her son, her siblings, her many nieces and nephews, and her friends who all loved and adored her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 12:30 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29732.
