Rock Hill, SC – Patricia “Patsy” Rector Helms, 78, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Helms Gordon Nursing Home in Fort Lawn, SC.
Born in Monroe, NC, Patsy was the daughter of the late Paul Rector and the late Faye Carter Rector. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Carl Rector
Patsy loved taking care of her 3 grandsons when they were young, keeping them in the afternoons after school and during their summer breaks. She traveled with them, taking trips to Florida, to the mountains, and to the beach. Patsy loved holidays, especially Christmas, so much so that she would begin putting out her Christmas decorations out in October. And for those who knew her, there was never a doubt that she loved Elvis!
Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years, Ronnie Michael Helms; her daughters, Virginia (Jamie) Bowman of Edgemoor, SC and Paula (Teddy) Melton; her three grandsons, Ernie Greenwood, Chip Bowman, and Joshua Greenwood; and her brother, Paul Rector.
