Rock Hill, SC – Judith “Judy” Boone Williams, 85, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 4, 2026.
Judy was born in Rock Hill on February 20, 1941, the only child of the late Frank Nelson Boone and Alfleta Miller Boone.
She is survived by her daughters, Lauren Williams Ludlam (Keith) and Meredith Williams Berryhill (Ben); her grandchildren, Sophie Lenora Spencer (fiancé, Ger), Zachary Williams Ludlam (Barbara), Alexa Ludlam Ledford (Tyler), Erica Schneider, and Raymond Ben Berryhill; and her three great-grandchildren, Lenora Ludlam, Gracie Schneider, and Luke Schneider. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Daren Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roderick Clark Williams, and her oldest daughter, Christie Williams Spencer.
Judy graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1959, where she proudly served as a majorette. One of her favorite memories was when the band was selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. She later attended Winthrop University before marrying her high school sweetheart, Rod, in 1962.
Together, Judy and Rod were the picture of true love — soulmates who genuinely enjoyed simply being together. Whether they were dancing, laughing until they cried, or taking a spontaneous last-minute trip with no luggage, they found joy in every moment spent side by side.
Judy was a devoted member of St. John’s Methodist Church, where she formed many treasured friendships. Throughout the years, she was also active in numerous social groups, including the Junior Welfare League, several bridge clubs, garden clubs, dance clubs, her cherished “Tuesday Night Friends,” and her beloved “Lunch Bunch.”
Her daughters credit her with teaching them the importance of finding a partner who would be a gentleman, a protector, and a best friend — and of never underestimating the importance of laughter in a successful marriage.
Along with spending time with family and friends, Judy enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, home decorating, ceramics, and creating lasting memories with her daughters and grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her love of Jesus, her cheerful spirit, her kindness, her unwavering devotion to family and friends, and her ever-present, genuine smile.
She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were simple ones — breakfast dates, spontaneous little concerts listening to them sing, and sharing laughter together. Judy was also known for her deep love of animals, especially the many beloved fur babies she adored throughout her life.
Judy will be remembered as a true social butterfly who nurtured lifelong friendships spanning more than sixty years. Her warmth, laughter, grace, and joyful presence left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know and love her.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Neelys Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 974 Neelys Creek Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
