Chester, SC – Donnie Wayne Rollins, 54, of Chester, South Carolina, passed away on May 14, 2026.
Born on February 16, 1972, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Donnie was the son of the late Ernest Wayne Rollins and Nell Totherow Ashworth. He spent more than 25 years working as an electrician before later becoming an entrepreneur.
Donnie was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and love for helping others. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, and spending time with his nieces and nephews, who meant the world to him. He especially loved the holidays and the time they brought with family and friends. Donnie had a way of making people feel welcome, and he will be remembered for the joy and warmth he brought to those around him.
Left to cherish his memory are his partner of 30 years, Elaine Williams; his mother, Nell Ashworth; his grandmother, Guynelle Flynn; his siblings, Donna Gayle Weible and husband Joe of Rock Hill, David Rollins of Myrtle Beach, Darlene Williamson and husband Marvin of Mississippi, and Amanda Alvarez and husband Joe of Charlotte, NC; along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
In addition to his father, Donnie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert “Joey” Ashworth, and his stepbrother, Timothy W. Ashworth.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 1:00-1:50 at El Bethel United Methodist Church, 3476 Catawba River Rd, Fort Lawn, SC. The Funeral will begin at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors during other times at the home of his mother, Nell Ashworth.
