York, SC – Beverly Sandifer Callahan, 79, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in York, SC, Beverly was the daughter of the late John Sandifer and the late Lena Petty Sandifer. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Sandifer, Charles Sandifer, Edward Sandifer, Robert Sandifer, and James Sandifer, as well as her son-in-law, Andy Smith.
Beverly enjoyed reading, gardening, and playing cards with her friends and family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was horseback riding. She grew up barrel racing and later in life showed cutting horses. Beverly especially enjoyed attending and spectating cutting horse shows. She was a faithful member of Philadelphia Church of York.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harry J. Callahan Jr.; her son, Jarrett Callahan (Shannon); her daughters, Tammy Bolin (Ricky) and Terrie Smith; her grandchildren, Bryson Bolin, Bryant Bolin, Matt Bolin, Tony Smith, Jamie Smith, Beau Nunn, Hunter Nunn, Gracen Futrell, and Gavin Callahan; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Darrell Purser officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Philadelphia UMC Cemetery in York.
