James Larry Mullinax, Sr. “Jimmy”, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 12, 1947, in Anderson, South Carolina, Jimmy was the son of the late John Louie Mullinax and Sara Massey Mullinax, he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Jimmy dedicated many years of his life to Rock Hill Printing and Finishing in the packing department, Smith Enterprises warehouse, and AME, Inc. as a tool room manager. He attended Rock Hill High School; an avid golfer and passionate Clemson fan. Jimmy was often found sitting on the porch with a good cigar, soaking in the beauty of his surroundings.
As a proud member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 416, he valued the bonds of brotherhood and community.
Jimmy was blessed with 56 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Sherry Kelly Mullinax. He was a proud father to his son, “Jay” James Larry Mullinax, Jr. and his wife, Lisa Dawkins Mullinax of Rock Hill, SC, and a devoted grandfather to Justin “Luke” Mullinax and Jordan Jones, who reside in Clover, South Carolina.
Jimmy is also survived by his sisters, MaryAnne Mullinax Martin of Summerville, South Carolina, and Jan Mullinax Deyton, along with her husband Alan of Phoenix, Arizona. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive and welcome friends on Monday, June 1, 2026 starting at 1:00pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732, a celebration of life will take place following at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Community Care, Rock Hill, SC.
