Julianne Sinclair Gasque, 93, entered into the kingdom of Heaven, to be with God on her birthday, Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
A native of Winnsboro, SC, Juli was the daughter of the late Hubert S. Sinclair and the late Louise Sandifer Sinclair. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and attended Mars Hill University before graduating from Winthrop College with a double major in Voice and Music and a minor in English. Juli worked as the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Mullins, SC, where she met the love of her life, Archie Kenneth Gasque. The two were married on December 30, 1955 and shared life together for more than 66 years.
Juli taught school in Columbia, Bennettsville and Rock Hill. She also worked as a Librarian at the York County Library. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She had a lovely voice and people enjoyed listening to her sing. Juli saw the good in everyone and never voiced a harsh word about anyone.
She and her husband were blessed with four children and were survived by David Gasque (Teresa) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Melissa Gosnell (Melvin) of Kings Mountain, NC; and Michael Gasque of Lancaster, SC; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Kenneth Gasque, her daughter, Rebecca Franco and her brother, Robert Sinclair.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Heritage Hall at Westminster Towers, 1320 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will hold a private family burial prior to the Celebration.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in Juli’s name to the First ARP Church, 201 East White Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to the Memorial Fund at Westminster Towers, 1330 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
