Christopher Lee Shirah, age 50, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2026.

Born on April 21, 1976, in Rock Hill, SC, Christopher was the son of Reba “Lucy” Canty Shirah and the late Ralph “Buddy” Shirah. He remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life and was known for his loyalty, hardworking nature, and the love he had for his family and friends. Chris was especially proud of his heritage and had a deep interest in the history of the Catawba Nation, spending time researching and learning about its culture and roots.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph “Buddy” Shirah, and his brother, Jamie Shirah.

Chris is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 15 years, Jennifer Vanselow Shirah. He cherished his family deeply and took great pride in his role as a stepfather to Courtney Revling (Jon Revling) and Gabriel Rowland (Sofia Lamboy). He was also a loving grandfather to Walker Revling and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another grandchild.

Chris is also survived by his mother, Reba “Lucy” Canty Shirah; his father-in-law, Mike Deaton; his aunt, Melanie Simpson of Fairfield, Ohio; and his beloved nephews, Jordan Shirah, JJ, and Austin Brazzil and great nephew, JJ. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom he shared close and meaningful relationships.

Chris dedicated over 20 years of his professional life to Alphagary/Mexichem, where he built lasting relationships and was highly respected by his coworkers. He truly loved his work and the people he worked alongside, considering them an extension of his family.

Chris will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. His absence leaves a profound void, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home, located at 2133 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1989 Reservation Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
