Fort Mill, SC – Mrs. Joyce Mary Farbent Skroban, 85, passed on into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, with family at her side.
Joyce was born in New York City, NY and the daughter of the late Flory Farbent and the late Mary Ribanic Farbent. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Fred Skroban; her brother, Floyd Farbent; and her brother Dennis Farbent. She was a member of Faith Church in Rock Hill and had many special memories serving at Faith Church with her late husband Fred. Joyce faithfully participated in online Sunday service with Faith over the past two years and was also a former member of the Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Study. Over the past year Joyce was able to join a ladies Bible study at Traditions, the senior apartment where she lived. Joyce, known affectionately as “Babu” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dedicated her daily life to praying for each of her family members whom she dearly loved. You could not miss seeing her Bible, Our Daily Bread, and her prayer notebook close to her chair.
Mrs. Skroban is survived by her son, Frederick (Beth) Skroban II of Waynesboro, PA; her daughter, Stephanie (Ricky) Blackman of Rock Hill, SC; her son Karl (Leane) Skroban of Rock Hill, SC; her sister Nancy (Al) Zublionis of Valley Stream, NY, and her nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 14th, 2026 at Faith Church, 2800 Faith Blvd. Rock Hill, SC with the Reverend Brian Keith officiating.
