A celebration of the life of Anne Reece (Reesa) Gibson McCrorey will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Rock Hill, SC.

A native of Sumter, S.C., Mrs. McCrorey was a daughter of the late William Bentley Gibson and the late Betty Funderburk Gibson.

Reesa graduated from Edmunds High School in Sumter in 1967. She continued her education at Columbia College, and graduated in 1971 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She later earned a master’s degree from Winthrop University. She loved children and taught at the Episcopal Day School in Rock Hill, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, SC, Westminster-Catawba Christian School and in later years at School Days Child Development Center in Rock Hill.

Mrs. McCrorey was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior for 53 years. At her church, she served on various committees and was a longtime member of St. Anne’s Guild. She also taught preschool through 3rd grade in Sunday School.

Mrs. McCrorey was a former member of the Rock Hill Junior League and Piedmont Medical Volunteer Auxiliary, where she volunteered in the hospital gift shop.

Surviving are her son Sam McCrorey of Rock Hill, her sister Gay Gibson Clark of Lexington, SC; her nephew and wife, Rhett and Emily Clark of Columbia, SC; her niece and husband, Katy and Stephen Lever of Lexington, SC; and her beloved great nieces and nephews, Josef (Connor) Clark, Charlotte (Charli) Clark, Ryan Lever, Josh Lever, and her namesake, Ann-Reece Lever.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 144 Caldwell Street, Rock Hill, SC, 29730.
