Steven Duane Tyler, 69, of Windsor, NY, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Steve leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Cook-Tyler, and his children: Erica McCoy (Erin), Denise Tyler (Katie), Derrick Tyler (Colette), and Brittany Schreiber (Daniel). He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Hailey Paciello (Tom).
His family was truly his whole world. He loved his children deeply and unconditionally, and they never doubted his love for even a moment. That love only grew as his family expanded to include his 13 grandchildren, each of whom he adored beyond measure.
Steve was a man of deep faith whose love for God guided the way he lived his life. He found strength, comfort, and purpose in his relationship with the Lord, and he shared that faith through his actions every day. He believed in treating others with compassion, extending grace freely, and trusting God’s plan through both life’s joys and challenges.
He was the kind of man who never met a stranger—everywhere he went, someone knew him. His warmth, generosity, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation, always putting others before himself. Above all, he will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering love for his family, his steadfast faith in God, the lessons he taught, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, his love, his faith, and the example he set will live on in all who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord he loved and served so faithfully.
A service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, located at 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
A Memorial Service will also be held on Saturday, June 20th at 11:00 am at Trout Creek Community Church 8558 County Highway 27, Trout Creek NY 13847.
