Diane M. Parker, 78, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Diane was born on September 26, 1947, to the late Wesley Eugene Marthers and Marianna Parrish Marthers, in York County, SC. She grew up in the Rock Hill area and graduated from Rock Hill High School. She married Bobby Parker and started her family. After Bobby passed at a young age, she raised her children with the help of her mother. She was a strong woman, beloved mother and member of Mount Holly Methodist Church. In her free time, she loved to crochet, make blankets, read novels, and listen to music while she danced. She also loved the beach, being in the sunshine, watching the hummingbirds, and going to concerts. Some of her favorite musical artists included Alabama, The Beach Boys, The Temptations, and The Drifters. In her work life, she worked at the Spring’s Industries plant in Fort Lawn, for Celanese in Rock Hill, and Tyco in Rock Hill. Later, she also loved working as a caregiver with the Visiting Angels.
She is survived by her son, Wesley Parker, her son, Reginald “Reggie” Parker (Cheryl), her daughter, Sheena Parker; her brothers, Wayne Marthers and Larry Marthers; her grandchildren, Travis Parker, Holly Parker, Wes Parker, Holly Parker, Bayleigh Parker, Alexis Parker, Trevor Parker, Zhay McCoy, Rachel Parker, A’monie Parker, and Alona Parker; her great-grandchildren; and her first cousin and close friend, Maryanne Ballard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Marianna Marthers; her husband, Bobby Parker; and her brother, Danny Marthers.
A visitation will be held for Diane Parker beginning at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E White Street, Rock Hill, SC, 29730. A funeral service will begin directly following the visitation, beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
