Robert Howard Ashley – Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather

Robert Howard Ashley, 85, of Rock Hill, SC, and formally of Indian Land SC, passed on to his heavenly reward on July 12 th surrounded by his loving family. Born in Washington, D.C. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Ashley and Marie Dubose Ashley, as well as brothers Russell and Tommy, and sister Margaret Anne.

Howard was a faithful member of the Charlotte Avenue church of Christ in Rock Hill. He served as a teacher, deacon, and elder of the church during his lifetime. Nothing was more precious to him than sharing the gospel of his lord Jesus to the world around him. He was best known for his passion of sharing that gospel.

His beloved family came second only to his Lord. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Brenda Robinson Ashley; son Robert C. Ashley (Donna) of Fort Mill, daughter Teresa A. Rowand (Michael) of Rock Hill; his beautiful granddaughters Tara Flynn (Luke), Brooke Frick (Wesley), Tori Price (Mark), Blair Rice (Travis), and Aubrey A. Watson, as well as eleven great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Thomas, and Abigail Frick; Seanna, Daisy, Zachary, and Aubrey Price; TJ and Naomi Rice; Palmer Watson; and Regan Flynn. He was indeed blessed as he considered that his “quiver was full”.

A celebration of Howard’s life will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Charlotte Ave church of Christ, 339 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made in Howard’s name to Providence Hospice or Palmetto Bible Camp.
