Clark Sanderson Bush, 75, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Rock Hill, Clark was born to the late Clark Talmadge Bush Jr. and Eleanor Shuler Bush. He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1969, proudly served seven years in the South Carolina National Guard, and retired from Bowater after 42 years of faithful service. He was also a member of Antioch Methodist Church. Clark believed in showing up, working hard, and taking pride in a job well done.
His greatest blessing in life was his family, especially his beloved wife, Sandra Belue Bush. Their love story began when they were just 14 years old, and they were blessed to share 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Clark leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra; his daughters, Kimberly Hill of Charlotte and Jennifer B. Comer (Jeff) of Rock Hill; his treasured grandson, T.J. Hill of Charlotte; his brother, Mark Bush (Kathy) of Spartanburg; three nieces; one great-nephew; one great niece and Harley, his faithful English Bulldog and constant companion for the past 15 years.
If you knew Clark, you knew he was happiest when he was taking care of the people he loved. He was the kind of man who never met a project he couldn’t tackle. Whether it needed to be built, repaired, wired, plumbed, or fixed, chances are Clark had the tool and the know-how, to get it done. He was hardworking, dependable, independent, and yes… a little hardheaded. He was simply a man’s man.
When he wasn’t working, you could usually find him, working on his ’57 or with a fishing rod in his hand. He looked forward every year to his fishing trip to the Outer Banks with his Bowater Buddies, and more than once he chose to sleep on the beach just to make sure he didn’t miss the best fishing. Those trips meant as much to him as the fish he brought home. He was also blessed with a lifelong friendship with his best friend, Jimmy Currence. The two met in high school, together many hours were spent working on cars together, swapping stories, and remained the best of friends for more than 60 years.
Nothing, however, compared to the time he spent with his family. Clark cherished the annual family vacations to Holden Beach, where the days were slower, the laughs were louder, and memories were made that will be treasured for generations. Whether he was casting a line with lifelong friends in the Outer Banks, tinkering in his workshop, or simply sitting on the porch with family, Clark found joy in life’s simple blessings.
Clark’s legacy will live on through the example he set of hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, loyal friendship, and a willingness to help anyone in need. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Clark’s life will be held at a later date with details to be announced by the family.
And if you were fortunate enough to visit Clark and Sandra’s home, you already know how he would want to say goodbye:
“Watch out for deer when leaving.”
