Cynthia Ivon Rivera, 40, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at her home in York, South Carolina.
Cynthia was born on August 1, 1986, to Michael Rivera and Rubiela Ivon Rivera in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Rock Hill High School and dedicated her life to the assisted living community. As a certificated nursing assistant, she used her caring spirit to tend to the needs of the elderly. Cynthia was a proud mother of two. Her children fondly remember her taking them on trips and activities and being there for them whenever they were scared. In her free time, Cynthia also enjoyed the mountains, the beach, music, crafting, and giving personalized gifts to those she loved. She’ll be remembered as a dreamer and a loving mother, daughter, and sister.
She is survived by her children, Russell Wayne Lanford III and Olivia Maria Blue; her parents, Michael and Rubiela Rivera; and her brother, Michael Rivera Jr.
A Celebration of Life service for Cynthia will be held at 5:30 PM on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Following the service, the family invites friends and family to attend visitation from 6:30-8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
