On September 2, 2026, Nannie “Lou” Mullinax went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born to Samuel Fowler and Bessie Vaughn Fowler in Spartanburg, South Carolina on November 10, 1934. She was retired from Shaw’s after 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Mullinax; her parents, Samuel and Bessie Vaughn Fowler; her sons, Wendell Mullinax and Johnny Mullinax; granddaughter, Maranda Leigh Privette; grandson, Charles Mullinax, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Beverly Mullinax; and her only son-in-law, Wayne Walker.

She is survived by her children, Joey Mullinax (Teresa), Dean Mullinax (Judy), Charles “Bug” Mullinax, Sr. (Cynthia), Brenda Walker, James “Monk” Mullinax (Dixie), and daughter-in-law, Tammy Mullinax.

She was Maw Maw to Adam Mullinax (Jennifer), Michael Mullinax (Samantha), Jeremy Mullinax (Casey), Lindsey Mullinax (Octavio), Wendy Hartsoe (Josh), David Mullinax (Heather), Hope Taylor (Jon), Anna Lee Cornwell (David), Kimberly Mullinax, Jennifer Mullinax Bryson (Harley), Shannon McElroy, Jodie Foxx (Stevie), Jon Michael Mullinax, Tanner Mullinax (Haylee), Brandy Mullinax (Brian), Selena Mullinax (Colby), Summer Mullinax, Samantha Mullinax, and Hailey Price (Brandi); great-grandmother to 39 great-grands and 29 great-great-grands. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories her sister, Julia Chapman and several nieces and nephews.

Maw Maw was the best mom, maw maw, sister, aunt and friend that anyone could ask for. She was the most loving and kind person that you could ever meet. She would literally give you the shirt off her back. She would cook you a meal or be a listening ear. She loved for someone to paint her long nails, watch game shows, court t.v., Pepsi, peanuts and peanut butter milkshakes. Her favorite was watching or participating in ANYTHING her family wanted to do…like helicopter rides, beach trips, bowling, cornhole games, plays at school, or just a simple cookout. Her family was her life. Maw Maw is going to be missed more than she could ever know.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:50 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A funeral will take place at the funeral home at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730. The family welcomes friends at the home of Brenda Walker, 3938 Berryhill Road, Edgemoor, South Carolina, 29712, following the burial.
