Robert “Robby” “Pobs” Brunson
Robert “Robby” “Pobs” Brunson, 54, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Born on June 17, 1972, Robby lived a life defined by kindness and a genuine love for the people around him. Known to many as “Pobs,” he had a gift for making others feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. Whether you had known him for decades or had not seen him in years, a conversation with Robby always seemed to pick up right where it had left off.
To know Robby was to have a friend for life.
A devoted University of South Carolina Gamecock and Atlanta Braves fan, Robby enjoyed gathering with friends and making memories that would last a lifetime. Some of his happiest moments were spent in the company of the people he cared about and the simple joy of being together.
What made Robby special was the countless lives he touched through his kindness and unwavering friendship. His easygoing nature, caring spirit, and genuine concern for others created bonds that spanned decades and became one of the defining gifts of his life.
He is survived by his mother, Cathy P. Brick and stepfather, John Armendinger, of Warsaw, New York; his father, Gary W. Brunson and stepmother, Valerie A. Brunson, of Columbia, South Carolina; his sisters, Ashley Stoutland (née Brunson) (Josh) and Michelle Powers (née Brunson) (Steven); and his nephews and niece, Carter, Brady, Noah, and Hailey Paige.
In addition to his relatives, Robby leaves behind a deeply cherished circle of friends who were like family to him throughout his life. His family extends its deepest appreciation to them for the love, friendship, and unwavering support they so generously shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hazel and Mary Brunson; his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Frances Proctor; and his uncles, Dean Brunson Sr. and Stephen Brunson.
Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, those who knew him find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind, the relationships he nurtured, and the lives he touched along the way.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association through its Memorial Giving Program: American Diabetes Association Memorial Giving Program.
Robby, “Pobs,” will be remembered for the love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
