Rock Hill, SC – Arnold Ferris Small “Butch”, 78, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Butch was the son of the late Moody Ferris Small and the late Curtis Hilliard Small. He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnny Ferris Small.
He was the proud owner of Butch’s Plumbing service in York County for 30 years. He also taught plumbing at the formal Career Development Center for five years and was very proud of his students. Butch was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Butch enjoyed racing, camping, fishing, and spending time at his house by the river. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as his children grandchildren, and great grand-children who he loved dearly.
Butch is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Glenda S. Small; he was a loving father to his children, Andrea Patterson and her husband, Tony; Tammy Shoup and her husband, Bob; Kurt Small and his wife, Amy; as well as 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive and welcome friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will be held at 12:00 pm after the visitation, with Pastor Jim Phillips, officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Butch’s name to West End Baptist Church or ASPCA.
