Jennifer “Jenny” Erin Wray Dalenko, 52, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends.
Jenny was born on March 28, 1974, in Greensboro, North Carolina. She attended Guilford Primary School, Guilford Middle School, and Western Guilford High School. During her school years, she was active on the drill team, participated in choir, and enjoyed performing in children’s theater.
As an adult, Jenny cherished her time working at Youth Focus in Greensboro, a group home and counseling service for at-risk youth. It was there that her passion for serving others deepened, and her compassionate spirit shone brightly. She had a special gift for seeing the best in people and offering encouragement, kindness, and hope to those who needed it most.
Jenny was a devoted wife and a selfless mother who truly embodied the belief of “giving more than she took.” She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, always ensuring that those she loved felt cared for, supported, and cherished. Her greatest joys were her family and friends, rescuing stray dogs, helping neighbors in need, and advocating for the vulnerable and less fortunate. Jenny was, in every sense, “unconditional love personified”.
She was known for pouring her heart into every celebration and holiday. Whether baking homemade cakes and cookies, decorating the entire house, or searching for the perfect gift, Jenny made every birthday, milestone, and gathering unforgettable. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel special and deeply loved, creating treasured memories that will live on for years to come.
Though her years on earth were far fewer than any of us would have wished, her life was rich with purpose, generosity, and love. Jenny was a bright light in this world. Her radiant smile, infectious laugh, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a unique way of making every person feel welcomed, valued, and included. Jenny lived her life with patience, tolerance, and love, and those who knew her can honor her memory by extending that same kindness to others.
Jenny is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Dalenko; her cherished daughter, Augie Dalenko; and their beloved fur babies, Marley and Mango. Being part of a large, beautiful blended family, she is also survived by her father, Rick Wray; her mother, Joy Campbell (Jay); her sister, Michele Webb (Darren); her sister, Jodie Curley (Miles); her brother, Jamie Campbell (Austen); her stepmother, Cindi Wray; her stepbrothers, Robbie Henderson (Madison) and Zack Henderson (Christy); her stepchildren, Heather Martin (Matt) and Brittany Dalenko; her nieces and nephews, Preston Webb (Julia), Landon Webb, J.P. Campbell, Elsie Kate Campbell, Bo Campbell, Wrenn Curley, and Margo Curley; her grandchildren, Colin, Heaven, Cameron, Juju, Jane, Lyla, Justin, and Breya; her great grandchild Yarelie; as well as treasured cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, including Christy Todd (Johnny) and Paula Pearman (daughter Livy).
Jenny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loyce Ellis, and Robert and Elsie Wrenn, her father-in-law, Gerald William Dalenko, as well as her son, Andrew Dalenko.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 3 p.m. Donations and contributions may be made in her honor to the Humane Society of York County.
