David L. Carroll went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 28, 2026 at his home. David was born on August 4, 1936 in Tirzah to the late Roy Carroll and Millie Thrailkill Carroll. He grew up in Tirzah and lived there for 90 years. A graduate of York High School, Class of 1955, he was employed at General Tire & Rubber in Charlotte for 32 years. After retirement, he worked for Tega Cay and enjoyed keeping the grounds beautiful.
David is survived by his beloved wife Betty of 64 years and his loving son, Tommy Carroll, both of the home. He is also survived by his loving companion Jaxx, niece, Lynn Morrison (Jim); their children, James, Cameron and Anna; nephew, Walter Morton (Delores) and their children, Matthew, Bradley and Graham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Morton (Bill).
David was a lifelong member of Tirzah Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, Elder Emeritus, Deacon, Trustee of the church, and served on many committees. He always enjoyed working with the youth, especially during their trips to Bonclarken Summer Conference and Music Conference. Most of all, he had a deep faith and trust in God.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 6-7:30 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11:00 am at Tirzah Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Andy Putnam and Reverend Bob Elliott officiating.
