Carol E. Rice Allen, 77 years old, of York, SC passed away on Oct 11, 2026. Carol was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor who made every sacrifice for her family and her friends. She bravely endured health struggles throughout her life, including chronic pain and a debilitating neuromuscular disorder in her teenage years. In her later years she endured cancer, heart, and lung problems yet still with a smile. Even through her pain she was caring for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others. She lived to help people.
She worked retail sales (such as shoes and apparel) for most of her 40 years in the work force. In 1980 she wrote the floor plans and assisted her husband Finis in the building of their dream home in Ohio. In the late 90s she volunteered as the HOA President of Eagles Landing condo complex (Rock Hill) and spearheaded the renovation of nearly 100 units.
Carol is survived by her husband Finis Allen; daughter Jennifer Meadows (Matt); her four grandchildren Isaac, Johanna, Nicole, and Benjamin; her sisters Barbara Cole and Shirley Garner (Cliff).
Visitation will be held at 6:00-7:30pm Friday, October 23rd at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill SC. Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Saturday October 24th at Charlotte Ave Church of Christ, 339 Charlotte Ave, Rock Hill, SC. In lieu of flowers please make a monetary donation to Via Health Partners (Hospice) of Fort Mill, SC.
