Gerald Gilbert Comer, 86, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Born on October 8, 1940, Gerald was the son of the late Sarah Comer Hanna and Harold B Comer.
Gerald was married to his loving wife, LaDonna P. Comer, on July 22, 1958. He worked for Comer Distributing and retired in 2002 from Westinghouse. He was also a Shriner and a member of the Elks Lodge.
Family and a strong work ethic were the most valuable things in life to Gerald. During his retirement he and his wife LaDonna enjoyed many years with a place at Springmaid, Myrtle Beach, SC. Times there were spent with their children and grandchildren. He was the best Husband, Father, and Papa anyone could ask for. His absence will leave an immeasurable void for his family.
In addition to his wife, LaDonna, Gerald is survived by his two daughters, Donna Bechtler (Bill) and Barbara Zachary; his grandchildren, Sandi H. Calzada (Gus), Brittany B. Conrad (Trey), Mark Sturgis (Carson), and Maleah Little (Jordan); and his great-grandchildren, Cooper Burns, Wells Burns, Zoey McCarter, Riley Sturgis, M.J. Sturgis, Madeline Calzada, Eleanor and Lincoln Conrad.
Mr. Comer was predeceased by his sister Diane Cason.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Laurelwood Cemetery, 143 Laurel Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
