Rock Hill, SC – Edna Mae Lanier Mitchell, 93, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-1:15 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating.
Born in Hickory Grove, SC, Mrs. Mitchell was the daughter of the late Bud Lanier and the late Florence Mosley Lanier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mitchell, and her siblings, Forest Lanier, Nellie Batchler, Ruby Wright, and Joe L. Lanier.
Mrs. Mitchell was a charter member of Eden Terrace ARP Church, which later became Rogers Memorial ARP Church. Her husband, Frank Mitchell helped clear the land for the construction of the original Eden Terrace ARP Church.
Surviving are her two daughters, Bridget Wiley and Charlene McConnell (Jimmy); her grandsons, Patrick Wiley (Lindsay), Brandon Wiley (Kailyn), Nathan Wiley (Lisa), and Cole McConnell (Brittany); her great-grandchildren, Kendall Wiley, Nathan Wiley, Brantleigh Wiley, Clay McConnell, Hunter Wiley, Myles Wiley, Thea Rose, Kaylee Rose, Logan Rose, Aydan Smith and Ali Smith; and her in-laws, Dean and Carolyn Mitchell, Faye Mitchell, and Nancy Lanier.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Mitchell’s name to Rogers Memorial ARP Church, 1820 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
