It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Luther (Butch) Oates Lesslie Jr., of Rock Hill, South Carolina on February 2, 2025 at the age of 67.
Mr. Lesslie was born on March 10, 1957 in Rock Hill, SC. He was an alumni of Northwestern High School. Butch dedicated 25+ years of work at Oldcastle BE where he was a plant supervisor. He was well known for his authentic and incomparable personality. Butch was a true sports enthusiast; he reveled in the excitement and his love for Clemson football was evident to anyone who knew him. Away from work you could find Butch at Cindy’s pool.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Oates Lesslie Sr. and Aileen Allen Lesslie.
Mr. Lesslie is survived by his former spouse, Cindy Lesslie with whom he remained close friends with while they raised their 2 children and grandchildren that they adore immensely; daughter Kayla (Matthew) Steen and son Ryan (Victoria) Lesslie of Rock Hill, South Carolina and son Luther (Kelly) Moore of San Antonio, Florida; sisters Angie (Billy) Hallman and Debbie Arant of Rock Hill, South Carolina; grandchildren Rylee and Jaxson Steen, Owen and Grayson Lesslie, and Jonah and Tess Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lesslie’s service will be held at 11am on Friday February 7, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home, 2133 Ebenezer Road Rock Hill, South Carolina 29732.
