Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Deborah Lewis Gladden, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.  The service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Reverend Jamie Burdette officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family requests those in attendance to wear pink, Debbie’s favorite color.

Born in Greenville, SC, Debbie was the daughter of the late Arthur Boggs Lewis and the late Jean White Lewis. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught 5th grade Sunday school for nearly 40 years.  Debbie was a graduate of Winthrop College and served as a school psychologist in the Rock Hill, Clover, Lancaster and Charlotte school districts.  She also worked for many years with York Technical College. Additionally, she worked in private practice at Psych Associates.  She was a loving wife and mother and was dedicated to her family. She loved the water and lived out her dream of owning a lake home. Debbie cared for so many of her son’s friends and treated them as if they were her own sons. She and her husband were owners of Buns Restaurant in Rock Hill for many years.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary L. Gladden; her son, Jonathan Gladden and his wife, Jessica and her grand-dog, Maxine, who she adored.
