Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Sammie Youngblood Hovis, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Pruitt Health in Rock Hill, SC.
Sammie was born in Rock Hill, SC, and was the daughter of the late Sam Youngblood and the late Helen Boyd Youngblood. She was retired from District Three School System and was of the Baptist faith. Sammie loved to watch FOX news, read, knit, and crochet. She loved her family especially her grandchildren She loved to cook for her family.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Barry Yates officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Sammie is survived by her husband, Everett (Sonny) C. Hovis, Jr; her son, Everett (Trey) C. Hovis, III (Gina); her daughter, Alisa Marie Hovis; her brother, Max Youngblood (Linda); her granddaughter, Emily Eichhorn (Florian); her grandson, Evan Hovis, and
Carmen Hovis; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Eichhorn and Henry Eichhorn.
