ROCK HILL – Mr. Charles “Charlie” Howard Reeves, 73, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, 5 May 2025.
Born in Rock Hill, S.C., on 22 October 1951, Mr. Reeves was the son of late Mr. J. P. Reeves, Sr. and late Mrs. Shirley Haire Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Barbara “Cookie” Reeves Helms (Vick). Charlie is survived by his brother, Mr. J. P. “Buddy” Reeves Jr. (Ann) of Rock Hill.
Mr. Reeves was the father of his only son, Lt Col Jonathan Reeves and daughter-in-law Mrs. Courtney Reeves who currently reside in Ohio. Charlie also had many friends and extended family, including the Stacks children, who lovingly referred to him as Paw Paw Charlie, a title he loved from the moment it was said.
Charlie joined the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and proudly served through his retirement in 1992 as an Early Warning Radar Systems and Electronics Technician. During his military service he enjoyed numerous assignments to include California, Germany, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Florida. After retiring from the military, Charlie joined Comporium as a Network Alarm Monitor/Analyst and then retired in December of 2010. He spent his retirement years enjoying life by playing pool on Tuesdays, poker on Thursdays, and countless rounds of golf every day the sun was shining…and even when it wasn’t. He loved to tell all the tales of all his adventures, but no adventure ever topped the greatest one he had and that was being Jonathan’s dad.
A visitation for Charlie will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, 8 May 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill, SC (https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/local/south-carolina/rock-hill) 29732. Charlie’s celebration of life and burial will be held graveside at Neely’s Creek A.R.P. Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, 9 May 2025.
