Angel L. Peña Morales, 58, passed away peacefully at his home on May 7, 2025. Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, on March 27, 1967, he was the cherished son of Guillermo Peña Rivera and Luz Maria Morales.
Angel was a hardworking and humble man whose life was a testament to dedication and perseverance. He spent many years in agriculture before joining Black & Decker as an order selector. His unmatched work ethic earned him the distinction of being named the highest picker at the plant — a feat so remarkable that his photo still proudly hangs on the wall, a record never surpassed.
Angel found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time with family, friends, neighbors, and his beloved dogs, Cookie and Chico. With a heart open to all, Angel had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people of all backgrounds and cultures. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t spoken to yet.
Angel is survived by his loving wife and life partner, Mary Peña; his children, Guillermo Peña and Michael Peña; his brothers Julio, Jesús, and José Peña; and his sisters Carmen and Marisol Peña. He also leaves behind his stepchildren: Rosa Weagraff, Ramón Cruz, and Sandra Laird.
Angel was a proud grandfather to Nevaeh, Angelita, Guillermo Jr., Gabriel, and Gianna Peña; Layla, Lilly, and Lana Alford; Calista, Chloe, and Claudia Laird; Jose Aponte, Alayna Rhodes, Briana and Carly Cruz, and Hector and Adrian Aponte. He will also be deeply missed by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Family, friends, and all who were touched by Angel’s kind spirit are invited to attend his farewell ceremony at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, located at 2132 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, on May 10, 2025, from 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.
