York, SC ~ Mrs. Rebecca Adele Adams, 75, passed away on May 24, 2025. Rebecca was affectionately known as Becky. Becky was born November 23, 1949, in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Melvin P. Collins Sr. and Sibyl Elizabeth (Simmons) Collins. Becky was a very selfless person who cared more for others than herself, especially her family. Becky’s grandchildren were incredibly important to her; she was very active in following their growth and activities. Becky was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church in York, SC, where she was passionate about fundraising, volunteering, and offering food and happiness through working in the Soup Kitchen. Becky was an avid horticulturist and Master Gardener.
Becky is survived by her husband, Ralph Wayne Adams of York, SC; her daughters Kelley Adams, Kim Garand (Bob), Kristen Lowry (Kevin), son Michael Adams (Stephanie) and six grandchildren. Kathryn Campbell, Owen Chapman, Ella Chapman, Heath Campbell, Madison Lowry and Kane Adams. Her brother Mel Collins (wife Patty), their two sons Andy Collins (Katie), Chris Collins (Jess) and three grandchildren, Archie, Holden and Jackson.
Becky and Ralph were looking forward to their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 4, 2025. They loved to travel in their RV with their dogs, Ode and Chloe. Becky especially enjoyed spending time with her husband and friends in their special spot located in the Cruisers Roost RV Park in Columbia, SC.
The Celebration of Life Service will be a Memorial for Becky at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 2, 2025, at The Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 4858 McConnells Hwy, York, SC, 29745. Reception will follow the service at the Fellowship Hall at the Church.
