Rock Hill, SC – Kitty Case Edwards was delivered into the arms of her Savior on May 29, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, SC, on March 25th, 1937, to the late Frank Case and the late Elaine Gardner Case. In April of 1955, Kitty met the love of her life, Jon, on a blind date. Jon knew early on that he would marry Kitty and confidently told her on their third date that she would be his wife. His statement certainly proved prophetic, and the two were married on June 12th, 1957. During their 68 years together, they welcomed 3 beautiful daughters, 11 wonderful grandchildren, and 5 precious great grandchildren. The foundation of their marriage was built on a love that was both steadfast and enduring. There has never been a greater love than that shared between Jon and Kitty.
Kitty was the true definition of a southern lady and was adored by everyone she met. She had a smile that lit up every room she walked into. She was a firm believer that you could never have too many shoes, that leopard print was neutral, and that Olive Garden was always the right choice for lunch. Each night, Kitty could be found sitting in her rocking chair and reading her Bible, praying for her family. She lived her life full of poise, grace, and class, with unmatched love for her family and for the Lord. She led by example in teaching her children and grandchildren to selflessly care for the needs of others and prayed for her family daily that they would find happiness, strength, and the love of Jesus Christ in their lives. She was an avid lover of the beach, NASCAR races, and going toodlin’ with her daughters and granddaughters. Kitty’s life serves as a testament that life is best lived in the cherished moments of warm meals around the table, long hugs, and time spent with family. She will be remembered as a dedicated follower of the Lord, a devoted wife, an exceptional mother, an even better grandmother and gigi and the world’s best lemon pound cake maker.
Kitty passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2025, in the arms of her loving husband and surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Jon Edwards; daughters, Dawn Edwards Larkins (Jack), Vickie Elaine Koppe, and Lisa Marie Edwards McCravy; grandchildren, Samantha Bryant (Curtis), Jonathon McCravy (Aimee), Lauren McCravy, David McCravy, Jacob McCravy (Zeba), Faith McCravy, Joy McCravy, Jack Larkins III, Brett Larkins, Alec Larkins and Madison McAlpin (Fox); and great-grandchildren, Remi Bryant, Anthony Louhichi, Ajria McCravy, Parker McCravy, and Samuel McAlpin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jackie Case.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 3:30 PM at New Covenant Church, 4058 Catawba River Road, Catawba, SC, 29704. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
