Jacquelyn Kay Sanders, 75, of York County, S.C., passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2025.
Born on November 10, 1949, to the late Junius Ward and Irene Souls, Jacquelyn was the heart of her family — a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and strength to everyone around her.
She was known for her fierce love and gentle touch, the kind of woman who could raise a little hell with a smile, then be the first to wipe away your tears. Her home was always open, her arms always welcoming, and her kitchen filled with the scent of her perfect biscuits — made with the same care she gave to those she loved. She was the calm in the storm, the helping hand when you needed it most, and the steady rock for her family through life’s hardest moments.
Jacquelyn is survived by her beloved children Kay, Kim, Ashley, Kaitlin, Andy, Scotty, and Layne Sanders; her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings Mary, Pam, Brenda, “Little Pam,” and Eddie. She now joins in rest her loving husband, Andrew Clark Sanders; her sisters Linda, Theresa and Myra; and her brothers Zelon, Bobby, and Randy.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that the wind of heaven now carries our love to her & whispers into her ear wishing she was here.
Her memory will forever echo in the laughter of her grandchildren, the warmth of a home-cooked meal, and the quiet moments when we miss her most.
Family will receive and welcome friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 6:30 – 7:30 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732. A service for Mrs. Jacquelyn will take place the following day, Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11am at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.
