Ronald Earle Gehret, 59, formerly of Riverside, NJ, passed away on June 20, 2025. Ron is survived by his siblings, Kate Gehret, Robert E. Gehret Jr., Marie E. Gehret, and Matthew C. Gehret. He is also survived by his three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Gantz, Heidi Gehret, and Taylor Phelan Gehret. Ron took great joy in spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews: Leah Gehret, Ally Gehret Bohanan, Demi Gehret, Derek Williams, Juliana Gehret, Jaxson Gehret, and Jace Gehret. Ron also enjoyed many wonderful and close cousins, aunts, and uncles over the years, and they were very important to him, as well.
Ron, who was fondly known in his hometown as “Redsy”, was born on April 15, 1966, to Margaret Thomas Gehret and Robert Ernest Gehret in Riverside, N.J. After he graduated from Riverside High School in 1985, Ron worked at various venues in New Jersey over the years and served as a bartender for many years at Merion Caterers in Cinnaminson, NJ.
Ron provided his entire family and friends with many hours of laughs, joy, and fun. He possessed an uncanny ability to effortlessly and brilliantly mimic the voices of people he knew and people he would see on TV in a fun, albeit respectful approach. As a small child, he would watch Rich Little on television and be able to brilliantly repeat and perform the comedian’s entire act for his family and friends.
From kindergarten to 12th grade, Ron attended Riverside Township schools in Riverside NJ. There he met his “family” of close friends, including Donnie Barnes, Kurt Robinson, Ron Cameron, and Bryan Wilson.
One of Ron’s many joys was his dedication to his favorite football teams. Born into a passionate Philadelphia Eagles family, he had possessed season tickets to his beloved “Birds” for decades and never missed a game, whether watching on television or at the stadium. He was also an avid Penn State fan and never missed seeing his Nittany Lions play on television.
Services will be held in New Jersey, and details of the location and date/time will be communicated over the next few weeks.
