Judith Camille Hanson Dinius, born in Chicago, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.   Her life was a beautiful testimony of grace, strength, and unwavering faith, touching countless hearts along the way.

Judy was the devoted wife of the late James “Jim” Dinius, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2023. United in marriage for 60 wonderful years, their bond was one of deep love, mutual respect, and shared purpose.  Together, they traveled the world, embracing both adventure and service through numerous mission trips and journeys that reflected their love for people and the gospel.

A proud graduate of Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, Judy dedicated her professional life to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher.   Her influence extended well beyond the classroom as she led women’s ministries, youth groups, and Bible studies with passion and insight.  Throughout her life, she was a wise mentor and a faithful friend to many—always ready with a listening ear, a warm smile, and gentle, God-centered counsel. Her ability to see and nurture the best in others left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children: John Dinius (Rebecca) of Glenville, New York, and Julie Grider (Randy) of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Aberdeen, Lindsey, Claire, Jessica, James, and Owen. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and love.

She found joy in simple pleasures—gardening, reading, and above all, being a grandmother.  Her home was a place of peace, learning, laughter, and unconditional love. She lived each day with intentional grace, giving generously of her time, faith, and encouragement.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in her honor to Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill at https://www.hospicecommunitycare.org/sanctuary-garden-1-1, continuing Judy’s lifelong passion for sharing the love of Christ.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
