Susan Childers, 72, passed away at her home on Friday, July 25, 2025.
Born on February 20, 1953 in Greenville, SC, Susan was the daughter of the late Jerry C. Couch Sr. and the late Sophie Bolden Couch.
Susan worked at Samuel Strapping and Systems Inc. in Fort Mill, SC, where she spent a little over 20 years as a quality assurance technician. Aside from that, she was a passionate, avid Gamecock fan, always cheering her team on and giving them 100% on game days. Susan also valued spending time with her family, she cherished each moment spent with her granddaughters.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Amanda Childers of Greenville, SC ; her sisters, Jane Stevenson of Carlisle, SC, Peggy Helms of Rock Hill, SC, Jean Murry of Tennessee, Ina Marshburn of Chester, SC and Rhonda Griffin of York, SC; her brothers, Joe Mac Couch (Martha) of Rock Hill, SC and Jerry Couch (Linda) of Rock Hill, SC; her caring granddaughters, MeKayla (Dixon) and McKynzie, as well as her loving niece, Paula Oates (Danny) of Rock Hill, SC, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Aside from her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry R. Couch and Tony M. Couch.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 6:30pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732. A memorial service will take place following the visitation at 7:30pm.
